Tough Break!

On Tuesday, Corbin and a friend went up to the baseball field at the end of our street to hit some balls around. Corbin whacked one over the fence and naturally went to retrieve it. As he was scaling the fence, his foot got caught, down he went, and SNAP! Both bones of his forearm are broken.... This is a copy of the x-ray. It was not a pretty sight! Be sure to click on the photo to get a good look at where his wrist and elbow are in relation to the break.

Lucky for us, there was a team practicing at the same fields. The coach happens to be a friend of ours. He called us while a mom of one of his players (also a friend) whisked Corbin to the emergency room. Within literally less than 10 minutes of the accident, we were with him in the emergency room, getting treatment with yet another wonderful friend at our side to assist in giving Corbin a blessing. Where else but in a small town like Page would our son immediately have people who know him and know his parents be able to care for him and get him to help so quickly? Where else could we call on someone in a matter of only a few minutes to come and administer to him?

We have had so many phone calls, visits, and treats since the accident. We are so blessed to be surrounded by so many wonderful friends in Page!

To all the cousins:

Thank you thank you THANK YOU so much for all the help you gave my kids today. Ezra, Mercy, Gideon, and even the baby had a marvelous time being loved and helped by all of you. We're so grateful to be part of such a loving family!

Thank YOU for wrangling all the kids to the temple today. It was a little crazy to leave all the kids with you, but you were amazing. And thanks for letting Mercy rest on you at the reception tonight.


To Nic and Theo, Michelle and John, and Steve and Kim:

Thank you for raising such wonderful kids. The kids love their cousins, and even though I'm sure that little kids can be very annoying at times, your children were incredibly patient, sweet, and helpful to mine.
