So here's a crazy thought. What if we had a little luncheon at or near the cemetery (or just somewhere in SF) and invited all of the descendants of this ancestor????? How cool would that be? We could do it on the day we all go to SF or something??? Just throwin it out there. I personally am very curious to meet our cousins and think a little ceremony at the new headstone would be an excellent excuse!!!

That would be so cool, Michelle! How would we reach everyone to invite them, though? Ads in the newspaper? A big sign on a float in the parade?
I love it! I can contact my Buck cousins. My cousin Jean lives in Payson and some of her kids live around here. Janice is is St George and my come up for the day and invite some of her kids, etc.
I think I have a way to contact a bunch of them, I just need to know if we want to do it. I have been looking up Grandma Peters first cousins and seeing if they have obituaries with listed descendants...there are several great leads. I just am wondering if we should go for it or just contact Buck relaives, or what? I found a big cluster in California and a cluster in Utah. Hmmmm What do you think?
Those would be Grandma's maternal first cousins (the descendant of Ellen Loise and her siblings-there aren't any other apparent lines except thru the 3 surviving kids Lars had. Is that confusing yet?
Bertha had Lars, Lars had 3 kids that multiplied. Ellen Loise, Agnes Pauline, and Alma Samuel. Ellen is Grandma Peters' mother, Ellen Loise Buck.
Mom, are the Buck cousins your first cousins I assume? I think we could get in contact with your 2nd cousins (Grandma's first maternal cousins) or their descendants if you want.
Yes, the Buck cousins, Jean and Janice are Uncle George's kids. He has 4 others as well who live in the area. Jean is my age. I think all of mom's maternal cousins are gone.
Do we want to have a picnic in the park for dinner instead of the banquet room?? We could have everyone bring their own dinner and we could provide a cake?? Is there a pavilion at the park across the street from Bradley that we could reserve??
If we want to reserve a pavilion in Spanish Fork on the 24th, we need to do it today (or Monday). There aren't any reservable picnic areas in City Park, and it will be full of Fiesta Days stuff anyway (horse rides, concerts, etc).
There is an great pavilion at the City Reservoir (swimming at the cement pond!!), and two really super nice ones at Canyon View Park (lovely big trees and playground and volleyball and stuff).
I honestly don't know if we could get one reserved at this late date, but if this is something we want to do, let's try it! I can call on Monday if you all want me too.
