When Steve & I lived on our little brick house we had a swamp cooler. ($500-$700) It cranked out the cold air! When you don't have a lot of square footage you can run those things for cheap and get it cold enough to hang meat!
Are you planning on staying in your house much longer?? I don't think you would recoup that big of an investment for heating/cooling. Just bag the improvements and move up to Lehi closer to us! Interest rates have never been lower!!!
